Texas Rangers look Finally Win the Baseball World Series

After an embarrassing defeat by the San Francisco Giants with a 4 – 1 score in 2010 and losing to the St. Louis Cardinals in last years championships at 4 – 3, when will the Rangers ever get their big break? Of course, making it to the championship itself is a huge feat but losing two years in a row and not even one Baseball World Series victory in all its existence since 1903 is in a way, upsetting if not, downright frustrating.

The Atlanta Braves were in the same predicament back in 1991 and 1992 against the Minnesota Twins and the Toronto Blue Jays respectively. But their two year streak of bad luck was later avenged in 1995(could have happened in ’94 but remember that strike?) against the Cleveland Indians with a victory of 4 – 2, winning their first ever Baseball World Series Title.

Will the Texas Rangers finally get their share of victory and have their team included in the winning side of the great roster of World Series Games first established in 1903 with the Boston American as the winners and Pittsburgh Pirates as the losers.

Maybe that is too premature of a question to ask at the moment given the current stage we are in? After all, Spring Season is still in full swing and Regular Season is still on it’s way. Probably, one should be asking whether the Texas Rangers will even make it to the World Series, for the third year in a row.

Let’s look at their current predicament: Robbie Ross, coming out of the bullpen, is the Rangers’ new left hand reliever with a 1.64 ERA finish from the Cactus league games. Alexi Ogando along with Scott Feldman will work at the front as long relievers. Ogando finished the Spring with a 4.22 ERA , a 1 – 0 record and also 10 strikeouts with 11 hits Feldman on the other hand has a finish of 3.13 ERA, 1 – 2 record, and 22 strikeouts with 23 hits.

Before I write a 20 page summary, I will stop and acknowledge the fact that there is so many angles to look from at this point in time. The best thing to do is to just wait and see how the Rangers will manage throughout the Regular seasons and hope that the past shortcomings will be a driver for their victory in 2012.
